Our History

The DeFreese Manor Was Completed And Opened On June 2, 1982 By Kountze Memorial, Inc..

It is named in honor of Rev. Paul M. and Mina deFreese in recognition of their years of ministry and service provided to Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church from 1961 to 1986.

Application Tenant Selection Plan

deFreese Manor is open to all seniors age 62 and older, with incomes under $33,300 for individuals and $38,050 for couples.

As a Project Based Section 8 property, monthly rents are based on approximately 30% of an individual’s income. An allowance is given for the cost of the residents medical services when determining monthly rent.

Secured entry for personal safety and each apartment includes a Personal Response System.

Utilities

All utilities are included in the monthly rent except telephone and cable television, which are optional for the residents.

All apartments are fully equipped with heating and air-conditioning, wall to wall carpeting, refrigerator, electric range and window sheers.

Beauty/barber shop, laundry room, storage lockers, free parking, live-in Resident Manager, and Service Coordinator, Bus for grocery shopping and DR. appointments.

Also available is a Bus for grocery shopping and Dr. appointments. As well as a community room with a kitchen, patio, lounge, and balcony on floors 2-4.
